Join Animate Art in this FREE workshop to make rocket, butterfly and hot air balloon lanterns for the annual Lantern Parade on Saturday 23rd August!

25 workshop spaces available – all participants must be accompanied by an adult and must be available to take part in the parade on 23rd August (starting at 8.15pm). Please bring a packed lunch.

Local bands and musicians compete for the chance to win a slot on the main stage of the festival, 2 days in a recording studio, a global release on 250+ download sites, and a professional on-location photo shoot. NEW FOR 2014; there is a separate acoustic category for the chance to win a slot on the main stage and a day’s recording. All styles and genres welcome; 7 heats in 7 venues, culminating in the final at the magnificent Kings Hall on Friday 29th August, all free entry!

Drop in workshops at Beach Creative for all ages!
Learn and take part in the traditional Japanese art of origami. Following the festival’s theme of Take to The Skies, Beach Creative will be teaching you how to make beautiful origami birds of all sizes!
Why not illuminate your bird with tiny lights and show it off in the Lantern Parade at 8.15pm on Saturday 23rd August, just after the workshops? Lights will be provided.
Or you can add your bird to the Origami Bird Tree Installation at the Giant Picnic on Sunday 31st August!
